Calling all Chef Moms

Gosh, I'm tired. :P I was having trouble dragging myself up and out of bed. But duty calls... *and his name is Jacob* He was hungry and not in the mood to wait on Mama. He's the pickiest little thing. He doesn't like baby food (except Sweet Potatoes and Earth's Best Pumpkin Apple), he never would take the oatmeals or rice cereals (although we thought they were a big part of his reflux so we never really persued it). He still drinks his formula and wants it in a bottle. I've been trying with the sippy cup but he usually just throws it down. The only thing "easy" that I've found that he likes is hot dog weenies and refried beans! lol (Not TOGETHER!) He'll munch on our food sometimes, but not enough to fill him up. And his FAVORITE restaurant is Jason's Deli. I think because we give him all SORTS of things and he gets the ice cream cone minus the ice cream @ the end! I've been looking for some easy baby friendly recipes but nothing sounds healthy yet good! HELP A MAMA OUT! <3 I'd love to hear what you guys feed your finicky little eaters! He only has his 4 front teeth so he can't chew on a steak either ;) Many thanks in advance! <3

  2. Jaxin's FAVORITE food is meatloaf (or any ground meat stuck together)! He would prefer all of his food to be meatloaf like. He also eats cheese, bananas, cheerios, apple sauce (but can't be the baby kind, and baby yogurt. Everything else is hit or miss, but he prefers it off our plate onto his tray so that he can eat it. But try some meatloaf or a hamburger cut up pretty small. And Jax only has the 4 front teeth too.

  3. The enchiladas I made last night, I had some of the chicken left over that was in the soup mixture... I gave him tiny pieces of that and he liked it! :)

  4. I'm not sure how much help I will be as Akiha loves EVERYTHING, which is amazing. That being said, she aboslutely adores hamburgers. She also likes grapes cut up really small, and guacamole (not together of course). I have to fight over the guacamole with her. And Guac is super good for them too with all those yummy fats.

  6. Tricky! I used to mash really gross things together like avacado and banana or pumpkin and applesauce. What about yogurt or little cheese pieces? Or black beans or chickpeas? I could usually get my girls to eat that stuff. Good luck!

  7. Picky eaters are so hard. We had a lot of success with homemade babyfood and applesauce. Now we are into yogurt and beyond. Best of luck. Now following you through the nestwork

  8. Thanks for following me! I'm your newest follower now. :-) Little Rocker isn't a picky eater at all, so this may not be really helpful, but on Mondays I feature a recipe that he really loved. It's called Baby Food Bonanza, and you can go back to the beginning for my meals he loved when he was younger.

    Good luck!!

  9. I've taken chicken and stars soup and mixed it with eggs. My grandson loves that. He also loves applesauce, smashed up bananas, and he still likes his baby food green beans, peas, squash, carrots so I feed him that as well.

  11. Let's see. . .frozen blueberries are a favorite with my four teether. They are cold but go to mush just as soon as they go in the mouth. All of my kids loved them as babies, just be sure to take off their clothes first. Also, strawberries cut in half, string cheese, all natural thinly sliced delimeat, tortillas, mashed up pasta, and ummmm. . . .soft peaches cut into half so she can hold one to them. My baby will even eat really soft broccolli, if it's comletely over cooked. Good luck. A mother's work is never done!
